#WHO IS GUILLEM, THE PERSON BEHIND GOMYRUG

I’m Guillem, the person behind Gomyrug, and if you’ve come this far, it’s probably because you’re interested in the world of tufting.

More than three years ago, I discovered this technique almost by chance, and ever since, I’ve been hooked. I started out of curiosity, trying out materials, making mistakes a thousand times, and learning little by little until I found my way of working. Today, tufting isn’t just a hobby; it’s my job, my project, and also my way of expressing myself.

What I like most is that each rug is unique: behind it lies a design, an idea, and a process that transforms a piece of fabric and wool into something with its own personality. At Gomyrug, I try to give each piece that special touch that makes it different and, at the same time, show the love that comes with handmade items.

Besides creating rugs, I love sharing what I know. That’s why I’m also a Tufting teacher at EchoClubTextil. In my workshops you learn everything I would have liked to know when I started: from the basics to the tricks that make a piece go from being “your first attempt” to something you’ll be proud to show.
